Configuration List

Purpose

A measurement of the work done for clients can be better analyzed by knowing the endpoints you service for each client. We estimate endpoints by using the configuration list provided by your PSA. Initially, MSPCFO uses your Managed Servers and Managed Workstations to calculate the endpoints or Nodes (for certain PSAs the configurations used are any Server or Workstation/Laptop listed).

We use these two configuration types because many MSPs pay for their RMM tool using counts from these values and therefore we consider these to be relatively accurate. As a default, MSPCFO starts with assigning one node to a Managed Workstation and two nodes to a Managed Server. The reasoning is that your engineers put about twice as much time into a server and it costs you about twice as much to service. The settings can be adjusted for your specific environment. The node is set up as a workstation equivalent.

If you want to change the node count to include other configuration types, or adjust the ratio of managed servers to managed workstations (base it on how you price the labor portion of your agreements for servers vs. workstations), you can make those adjustments in this table.

Note: For PSA - CW, the preliminary settings are 2 nodes for a Managed Server and 1 node for a Managed Workstation.

Note: For PSA - AT, the preliminary settings are 2 for any server and 1 for any workstation/laptop/desktop.
