Health Checks: Agreements
Overview
There are two Health Checks dealing with agreements. These deal with very high margins on product agreements and agreement categories that have not been assigned a type.
License and Subscription agreements with high margins
The table shows product stand-alone agreements (License & Subsciption) with cost margins being greater than the margin limit (%). The table allows you to filter by start date and margin limit. If the cost is incorrect, history can be corrected in MSPCPO by going to Lookup>Agreement Additions.
When a product has a margin greater than a certain percentage, MSPCFO questions whether the cost is zero or very low and wants you to evaluate. In some cases the line item is a discount (revenue is negative), in other cases the product cost might have been entered wrong or not entered at all. Another option is that this category of agreements is not a product agreement (product agreements have almost no labor associated with them), but actually a FFA agreement with labor and product and should be reclassified.
The report shows a maximum of 50 line items. Each recurring cost with a problem shows up for each month it is reported. Therefore, it is advisable to limit the months examined to a few past months. Less than six months should give you a good representation of the current items.
The columns in the table are:
1. Client name
2 Agreement name
3. SKU number for the product
4. Month where the margin is in question
5. Product revenue for that month
6. Product cost for that month
7. Margin percentage
Make sure to update the table if the Refresh is not current.
Agreements without assignment
When your company was first set up, all agreement categories were assigned a type. This allows MSPCFO to apportion revenue and costs to the correct categories. This table shows new categories created in your PSA that have not been identified in MSPCFO. Note that all these new agreement categories may not currently show up in MSPCFO.
Go to Lookup>Agreements and see if the category shows up on this table. If it does, then assign the agreement a type.
The columns in this table are:
1. Agreement category that has no type designation
2. The number of agreements
3. Hours logged for the agreement
Make sure to update the table if the Refresh is not current.
