Market Risk Groups
Purpose
The purpose of the Market Risk Groups table is to assign risk assessment to the markets (industries) you service. Each client's market designation is set up in the client record of your PSA. The market assignment for each client should be entered in the PSA before setting up the Market Risk Groups table. Market designations for each client are not assigned in MSPCFO.
The Health Check/Clients Without Assigned Market provides a list of any clients who do not have a market designation.
The Market Risk Groups table allows the following capabilities:
- Assign specific risk levels to a market
- Set up Best, Mid, and Worst scenarios for the risk group
- Add additional Market Risk Groups (preset Risk Groups are Low, Med, High)
Settings
The table has been preset with three Risk Groups - Low, Medium (Med), and High. Each of the Risk Groups is preset with a percentage decline in revenue for three different scenarios (Best , Mid, and Worst case). The Low market risk group will hold up in a volatile market, the Med markets have more risk, and the High markets have the most risk.
To make any changes in a market risk group, click the risk group edit button. In the example below, if the Edit button for Low risk is clicked, changes can be made for clients with low risk.
The following changes can be made for each risk group:
- Name - Edit the name of the selected Risk Group.
Three risk groups have been preassigned - Low, Med, High. These are self explanatory, but you might want additional levels of Risk Groups. For example, you might want to break down the Med level to 'Med - Low' and 'Med - High' in order to provide more revenue outcomes. - Color - Change the color designation for the Risk Group.
Each Risk Group has a color designation which will show up on the Risk Assessment /Client Risk By Market report. The colors can be changed. - Change risk percentages.
The three preset Risk Groups have been given a percentage of revenue change for the markets listed in this group. These percentages can be modified. - Markets - Add markets to the Risk Group
All markets are listed in the left column of the Markets area (lower portion of this screen). To move one market from the left column (Available) to the right column (Selected), click on the market name and click the '>' button. The market will move to the right column. If all markets in the Available list should be in the same selected Risk Group, click the '>>' button. All markets in the Available list will move to the Selected column.
When finished with the changes, click either the Save Market Risk Group button at the bottom or to cancel the changes, click the Cancel button.
Additional Market Risk Groups can be added using the "Add New Market Risk Group" button.
When the new Market Risk Group screen opens:
- add a Risk Group name
- choose a color for the background bar (click on the color bar, slide the color wheel colors all the way to the left and pick a color)
- choose percentages for the Best, Mid, and Worst
- move markets into Selected Markets
When finished with the changes to this market, click either the Save Market Risk Group button at the bottom or to cancel the changes, click the Cancel button.
Recalculation of the data must be made for this option to be updated.
