What are Health Checks?
Why are the Health Checks important to review?
Health checks are a way to verify that the data received from your PSA will be processed correctly in the MSPCFO reports.
Information comes into our database from your PSA. MSPCFO's software has additional settings that must be initialized to process your data into meaningful reports. When you first signed up for MSPCFO, many of these settings were established and need to be checked periodically for changes or additions. If you add a new agreement category or a new engineer who needs wages, we want to make sure the data is reflected accurately in MSPCFO . The Health Checks monitor when some of your values are extreme and prompts you to review these entries.
MSPCFO provides Health Checks to prompt you to keep these and other data current. The Health Checks examine areas such as:
- Do you have members without cost?
- Do you have agreement categories that have not been given a type?
- Do you have worktypes that zero out the cost (we do not recommend this)?
- Do you have product agreements with very high margins?
Do not assume everything that shows up in the Health Checks is an error or omission. It may simply mean some information needs to be reviewed. This may lead to an update in your PSA or a modification to the settings in MSPCFO.
What level of user has access to the Health Checks?
The health checks are accessible through the Admin level. This level of user has the ability to adjust the Lookup Tables and Wage History Table in MSPCFO.
Where do I find the Health Checks?
The Health Checks are located close to the bottom of the left of the screen (highlighted in yellow below) where you access the reports. There are five Health Check tabs:
1. Agreements
2. Clients
3. Products
4. Projects
5. Wage and Rates
Each Health Check has a 'refresh' button. Make sure to Refresh the health checks if they have not been refreshed recently.
